Sophia has a B.S. in Forestry and Natural Resources from UC Berkeley, as well as a M.S. in Forestry, Watershed, and Wildland Sciences from Cal Poly Humboldt. She has worked as a consulting Registered Professional Forester (RPF) throughout northern California and currently works as the Forest Health and Fire Resilience Program Manager for the California Association of Resource Conservation Districts (CARCD). In her current role, she supports the forestry programs of California's 95 Resource Conservation Districts (RCDs) through providing technical expertise, advocacy, education, and financial resources. RCDs hold a unique spot in California’s natural resources sector as special districts that bring diverse partners together to help communities safeguard their natural resources.
