In no other sector of forestry, is forestry part of a people. Indian Forestry is part of what makes Tribal communities who they are. Indian Forestry offers an overview of time honored approaches to Forest management and new innovations using Traditional ways of knowing.

Learning Objectives:

Attendees will gain clear understanding of relationships that tribes have with their natural resources including the use of fire in ways that have sustained them for millennia.
Attendees will get an overview of Tribal Forestry as a case study in integrating forest ecosystem stewardship, governance, collaborative partnerships and traditional knowledge, while overcoming persistent systemic challenges.
