Gabriel Nyen is a master’s student at Mississippi State University in the department of forestry. He is the lead researcher on a project with the goal of transitioning even-aged longleaf pine (Pinus palustris) plantations to multi-aged stands and restoring native groundcover. Gabriel collected his own field data for his study at The Jones Center at Ichauway in southwestern Georgia. He is the lead author of this study and created the presentation. He is advised by Adam D. Polinko of Mississippi State University and Joshua J. Puhlick of The Jones Center at Ichauway.
