John Young is currently a PhD Candidate working with the University of Georgia Plantation Management Research Cooperative. His work has focused on improving regional growth and yield models for the southeast US, specifically assessing how to incorporate additional covariates into model systems. Prior to starting his PhD, he has completed additional degrees at the University of Georgia (MS Statistics), University of Minnesota (MS Natural Resource Management), and Auburn University (BS Forestry). Following the completion of his PhD, he will be working as a Forest Biometrician at Weyerhaeuser.
