An examination of the effects of geographical seed source, light availability, and competition presence on artificial white oak (Quercus alba L.) growth and survival in both reforestation and afforestation contexts. This study begins to fill a critical knowledge gap for the use of planted white oak in forest management treatments.
Learning Objectives:
Explain how competition control, placement within an expanding shelterwood, and geographical seed source impact underplanted white oak (Quercus alba) growth and survival.
Explain how information outlined in Learning Objective 1 relates to white oak (Quercus alba) regeneration management objectives.
