Changes in fuel loads were monitored through a network of plots following drought and a western pine beetle outbreak across four national forests in the central and southern Sierra Nevada. Differences by national forest and elevation band were also observed and recorded

Readers will be able to recognize rates of change of different fuel types and which fuel types increased the most following the western pine beetle outbreak.
Readers will understand if there is a difference in fuel loads by national forest, and latitude by proxy; as well as to understand if there is a difference by elevation band.
