Older data and reports on tropical forests are help us to see their condition at earlier points in time, and can help point the way forward for restoration of degraded ecosystems. This study recounts recent successes and failures in locating and recovering such datasets and reports.
Learning Objectives:
1. Give an example of why older tropical forest data and reports are valuable.
2. Describe the problems in maintaining these datasets for the long term.
3. Give an examples of some of the types of data and reports that make up legacy tropical forest datasets.
