This project aims to obtain a greater understanding of trade-offs in implementing wildland fire. The main objective of this study is to identify fire characteristics that are related to an increased likelihood of wildfire or smoke-related harm by using permitting and suppression data from the Southeast United States.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participant will be able to recognize and identify the risks associated with various characteristics of controlled burns in the Southeast United States.
Upon completion, participant will be able to plan and coordinate better controlled burns that are less likely to escape managed areas.
