Research Forester US Forest Service South Hadley, Massachusetts, United States
The National Woodland Owner Survey science module on landowner values was developed and implemented in order to collect data on economic values not covered by the base NWOS survey, with an aim of bringing us closer to understanding the total economic value (TEV) that landowners derive from their forested land.
Learning Objectives:
The audience will learn about the Total Economic Value (TEV) framework as a means of accounting for the full range of values and benefits that landowners derive from their land, including both monetized and non-monetized values.
The audience will learn about the National Woodland Ownership Survey (NWOS) "Landowner Values" Science Module (i.e. scimod), including the latest results on indirect and non-use values enjoyed by family forest landowners.
