The Wisconsin Forestry Center at University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point developed a study to assess forestry professional development, training, and continuing education needs across Wisconsin. The study addresses sector-specific skill gaps, barriers to participating in training opportunities, training preferences, and the values that influence one's motivation to pursue training.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participants will be able to compare industry-specific skill gaps in Wisconsin to what they observe within their own organization or state.
Upon completion, participants will be able to discover the barriers that prevent practitioners from participating in training opportunities and how organizations can foster a more inclusive training environment.
Upon completion, participants will be able to identify factors that motivate individuals to pursue forestry professional development opportunities.
Upon completion, participants will be able to integrate observed training preferences from this study into their own program implementation.
Upon completion, participants will be able to reflect upon how the forestry workforce can be strengthened through training, professional development, and continuing education opportunities.
