Incidence and severity of brown spot needle blight (BSNB) on loblolly pine has increased in southeastern plantations in the past decade. In collaboration with the USDA FS Resistance Screening Center (RSC), we aim to develop a high-throughput screening protocol that is optimized to test seedlings for resistance against BSNB.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participants will be able to explain the threat of brown spot needle blight and other needle diseases on production of loblolly pine.
Upon completion, participants will be able to describe how a high-throughput screening protocol can be utilized for brown spot needle blight management on loblolly pine.
