Director of Stewardship and Restoration Save the Redwoods League San Francisco, California, United States
Coast redwood forests of Redwood National and State Parks (RNSP) encompass half of the world’s remaining old-growth coast redwood forest, which store more above-ground carbon than any forest on the planet. Redwoods Rising is a landscape-scale partnership working to accelerate the recovery of late seral habitat in RNSP’s second-growth forests.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participant will be able to understand the evolution of best management practices related to restoration forestry in coast redwood forests.
Upon completion, participant will be able to articulate the value of restoration thinning in increasing carbon sequestration and accelerating development of old-growth forest characteristics in second-growth coast redwood forests.
Upon completion, participant will understand how Redwoods Rising can be a model for collaborative landscape-scale forest restoration.
