Several authors identified Lake States biometric tools based on data as old as the 1920s. Changing practices and climate motivate the need to assess such tools. Presented are “forensic forestry” examples where data that built biometric tools were traced to its origin. Recent/ongoing assessment and updates to tools are previewed.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participants will be able to identify examples of biometric tools in use today that are built on data from as early as the 1920s and understand examples of how those tools are assessed and updated.
Upon completion, participants will be able to identify factors and evidence that may require biometric tools to be updated.
