This session explores what happens in the wake of California's recent and unprecedented high-severity wildfires across federal, state, and private lands. Representative experts from federal, state, and non-profit organizations will share their research, perspectives, and programs that address California's reforestation challenges and how to promote ecological resiliency for the future.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion, participants will be able to define and outline California's post-fire restoration and reforestation efforts across federal and private lands. Not only will participants be able to describe the ecological considerations within a multi-disturbance and climate change impacted landscape, but they will also understand how California’s forest resilience policy strategy is shaping these cross-agency collaborative efforts.
Upon completion, participants will be able to describe California’s multifaceted strategies for post-fire forest health and reforestation efforts from increasing state seedling capacity to introducing new funding avenues for non-industrial private forest landowners. We hope participants will be able to apply the successful strategies we outline or use them to inform the development of their own strategies within their regions.
Upon completion, particants will be able to demonstrate how partnership-driven frameworks involving federal, state, private, and non-profit organizations are working to achieve scalable landscape change in the face of unprecedented loss by wildfires.
