Andrew is a Climate Adaptation Specialist with the U.S. Forest Service Office of Sustainability and Climate. He has a B.S. in forestry from U.C. Berkeley, M.S. in forest science from Oregon State University, and a Ph.D. in forest sciences from the University of British Columbia. His work has included development of climate-based provisional seed zones for native plants and advising silviculturists on genetics and seed transfer guidelines for forest trees. He also coordinated the USFS PNW Region’s whitebark pine restoration program from 2011-2022. His current work focusses on climate change adaptation with an emphasis on implementation of assisted migration.
