Leif Mortenson grew up amongst the coast redwoods and coast live oaks of northern California. He received a cartography and natural resource planning-focused MA in Geography from Humboldt State University and a MS in Forest Science from Oregon State University. Leif has worked on forest monitoring and/or forest health-focused research projects for the U.S. Forest Service across the continental western U.S., Hawaii, and in southeast Asia for more than a decade.
