In 1973 while attending college Randy worked each summer for A. J. Gray Logging as a chokersetter and as an equipment operator. After college Randy started Jacobszoon Logging working as a logging contractor for Georgia-Pacific in Fort Bragg, California. The company constructed roads and operated tractor and cable skyline logging systems.
In 1992 Randy sold his logging business and went to work for Professional Forestry Services, a forestry consulting firm in Ukiah, California writing timber harvest plans, timber appraisals, and conducting biological surveys.
In 1995 Randy started Jacobszoon and Associates Inc., an environmental consulting firm providing a wide range of professional forestry, natural resource, and land management consulting services to a diverse client base throughout northern California. Over the past 28 years the company has expanded their core services to include forest resource management, biological and botanical resource management, rural planning and development, fire risk assessment and mitigation, wetland delineation and mitigation, environmental planning, and water rights procurement and management.
