Ryan Tompkins is the University of California Cooperative Extension Forester and Natural Resources Advisor for Plumas, Sierra, and Lassen counties and is a Registered Professional Forester. His research interests include forest & fire restoration and management and post-fire restoration. During his 18 year federal career, he worked as a certified silviculturist with the USDA Forest Service. He is a member of the Science Advisory Panel and the reforestation working group for the California Wildfire and Forest Resilience Task Force. When he's not thinking about forested landscapes, he might be enjoying a quiet moment in the Sierra Nevada backcountry.
