Bailey McNichol is currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Forestry at Michigan State University, assessing shifts in the composition of Michigan's forest associated with climate change. In her dissertation research at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, she investigated the role of forest microclimates in shaping patterns of functional and taxonomic diversity in the forests of the Niobrara River valley, Nebraska. Her previous research focused on the effects of pine bark beetle infestations and prescribed fire on southern pine forests.
