Simon Baker is a Master of Science student at NAU’s School of Forestry. Born among the deciduous forests of the Midwest, he moved to Colorado in his early 20’s and found out he was really a conifer person at heart. With a B.S. in Ecosystem Science and Sustainability from Colorado State University and plenty of practical field experience, Simon seeks to understand and manage our forests in a rapidly changing future. He is writing his thesis on Southwestern white pine and its response to an invasive fungal pathogen and is involved in numerous projects around NAU and the Flagstaff community.
