Dr. Ashley Schulz earned her B.S. in Forestry from the University of Missouri-Columbia, M.S. in Forest Resources from the University of Georgia, and Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences from Arkansas State University. She is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Forestry at Mississippi State University. Her research interests broadly include preventing and managing forest disturbances, such as invasive insects. Specifically, her research currently focuses on developing a tool that can predict the next high-impact insect invaders in North American urban and natural forests, and monitoring and controlling invasive insect and plant species, such as cogongrass, in southeastern forest ecosystems.
