I am a forest hydrologist by training, which means that my research is at the nexus of the biotic and abiotic worlds. I am particularly interested in how trees interact with and exert control over the hydrologic cycle, especially following environmental disturbance. I rely on a variety of tools and analyses spanning different disciplines, including hydrology, soil science, ecosystems ecology, isotope hydrology, climate science, and plant physiology.
