Dennis Kepler has over 30 years of experience in both forest inventory and remote sensing. He’s been involved with developing and implementing large-scale mapping projects throughout the Pacific Northwest, Alaska, and Minnesota using both plot and transect based inventory to create Landsat satellite and lidar derived data. He currently leads the Minnesota DNR’s effort transitioning away from tradition stand based inventory to a technology based modeled forest inventory system. Dennis holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Forest Management from Oregon State University.
