Gary is a research landscape planner at the USDA National Agroforestry Center in Lincoln, Nebraska. His research focuses on developing resources for designing multi-functional agroforestry practices to achieve environmental stewardship and production objectives. Some of his publications and products include the Agroforestry: Enhancing resiliency in U.S. agricultural landscapes under changing conditions, Non-timber Forest Product Calculator, and Conservation Buffers: Design Guidelines for Buffers, Corridors, and Greenways which has been translated into Spanish, Chinese, French, Korean, and Mongolian. Gary received a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Kansas State University and a Master of Landscape Architecture from Utah State University.
