Karam is a PhD student at the Yale School of the Environment, where he is studying temperate forest farming systems. He has worked in the field of agroforestry for nearly a decade, beginning in 2015 as an AmeriCorps volunteer at Rural Action, a nonprofit in Ohio that conducts agroforestry education and outreach. He received his Master's in Forestry from Yale, where he conducted research on forest farming systems and subsequently co-founded the Northeast Forest Farmers Coalition. He was most recently Director of Sustainable Forestry at Rural Action before returning to Yale for doctoral studies.
