Rachel is pursuing a master’s degree in Natural Resources advised by Dr. Anthony D’Amato in the Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources at the University of Vermont. She is interested in the socio-ecological dimensions of forest management, climate change adaptation and social justice. Rachel’s master’s research aims to further an understanding of perceived institutional barriers to climate change adaptation and diverse knowledge systems among state agencies and Tribal Nations in present-day Maine’s forestry community. Her work is grounded in a participatory approach to knowledge exchange and strives to amplify study participant’s voices to support cross cultural dialogue around climate change adaptation.
Rachel received dual BA degrees in Environmental Studies and International and Global Studies from Brandeis University. She has also spent over six years working in education and research across federal, non-profit and university sectors. Rachel enjoys spending her free time outdoors exploring Vermont.
