Stephanie Connolly has served USDA for more than two decades as a field soil scientist. She has a long-standing relationship in working with USFS Research and Development on soil resource topics such as acid deposition, reforestation of high elevation landscapes, and strategies to conduct timber management while integrating climate change science. In 2021, Stephanie took a position with the FS Northern Research Station where she leads the Agency’s effort in developing the Forest Soil Moisture Monitoring Network. She works with partners to discuss the importance of incorporating forest soil moisture data into models that are used to inform forest management.
