Associate Professor Clemson University Clemson, South Carolina, United States
South Carolina is one of the largest timber-producing states in the US. Being rich in forest resources is suitable for sequestering carbon and for forest product manufacturers (primary and secondary). However, increasing timber production in this region may create problems for the carbon hotspots of the state.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participants will be able to identify carbon and forest product manufacturers hotspot areas in the south carolina.
Upon completion, participants will be able to calculate the quantity of timber available in different forests and landowner types of carbon hotspot areas.
Upon completion, participants will be able to identify the factors that drive the forest product manufacturer's location and production capacity.
