The goal of this project was to quantify the spatial patterns of residual trees after catastrophic wind disturbances in a longleaf pine woodland. The research findings have direct application for silvicultural systems.
Learning Objectives:
Infer the drivers of variability in residual trees.
Quantify how spatial patterns of residual trees differed based on topographic characteristics.
Determine the size, shape, and frequency of canopy gaps.
