Sr. Scientist Mast Reforestation - Seattle, WA Seattle, Washington, United States
Nurseries sow multiple seeds per cell to increase the likelihood of at least one seedling. Excess seedlings within a cell are manually thinned, which is time-consuming. We investigated whether x-ray images of specific seed features, such as the fill, could be used to assess seed lot quality.
Learning Objectives:
Participants will have a better understanding the effect of seed supply shortages on nursery production and the reforestation pipeline, overall.
Participants will have a better understanding of how image analyses can improve seed use efficiency in nursery production.
