Unmanned Aerial Systems Data Collection Specialist Purdue University Lafayette, Indiana, United States
Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), or drones, have become more affordable and easier to use than ever before, leading to an increase in their use by land managers. This project details the use of UAS to monitor prescribed fire and outlines recommendations for those looking to incorporate UAS into their work.
Learning Objectives:
Recognize the usefulness that UAS could provide to them in the management and monitoring of forest environments.
Understand how they themselves can use UAS to map and monitor their land and the management practices they institute.
Connect with experienced UAS operators for any further questions and/or resources.
