Urban forestry is increasingly in-demand but lacks a unifying identity or the organized professional support system seen in 11 other professions analyzed. A gap analysis revealed urban forestry needs improvement in credentialing, public awareness, recruitment, and career advancement. We identified a misalignment between urban forest professionals and existing professional organizations.
