Hunting has become a source of income for landowners and other stakeholders. Chronic wasting disease (CWD) is a fatal disease affecting wild and captive animals from the Cervidae family. This study explored the ecological, social, and economic impact of the disease and highlighted measures to contain the disease.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participants will be able to be aware of Chronic Wasting Disease, and its spread around the world. The participant will understand about ecological, social, and economic impacts associated with the disease. Furthermore, the presentation notes that the disease affects the hunting business, which has a substantial impact on local and state economies in the United States. The study will describe the type of stakeholders being affected by the disease.
Upon completion, participants can understand disease management strategies for controlling and mitigating CWD spread. They can identify effective CWD mitigation strategies in the United States and other countries. It can help researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and other relevant stakeholders develop more effective disease management strategies to contain the disease.
