This study compares the growth rate of planted mixed conifer seedlings in 0.08 hectare gaps, half of which received herbicide treatment. Eight years after planting, these gaps burned in a wildfire, further expanding this study to understand interactions between herbicide treatments and wildfire effects in small canopy gaps.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participants will be able to describe edge effects in small canopy gaps.
Upon completition, participants will be able to compare seedling growth in gaps treated with herbicide and gaps that are untreated.
Upon completion, participants will be able to describe wildfire effects in an uneven-aged management system.
