Researchers from UCCE, CalPoly-Humboldt, and UC-Berkley examine the effects of fuel treatments on the outcome of prescribed burns at JDSF. Manual and mechanical pre-treatments alter fuel arrangements and are predicted to result in differences from the control following prescribed burning. This may inform land managers on wildfire risk reduction treatments.
