Although biochar can be an effective means of reducing forest fuel loads, there has been limited adoption of this technology among New Mexican land managers. Our study considered the barriers to the adoption of biochar technology and identified factors to support biochar production and application in northern New Mexico.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participants will be able to list some of the main socio-cultural, economic, and biophysical barriers that impede to landowner the adoption of biochar technology in northern New Mexico.
Upon completion, participants will be able to identify important factors that will help to expand the scope of biochar production from thinning slash in northern New Mexico.
