There is increasing interest in the use of targeted browsing to supplement or enhance prescribed fire regimes in open forested ecosystems. During this presentation we will highlight and contrast the differences between targeted browsing, prescribed burning, and combined approaches of browsing and burning to meet objectives for oak woodland restoration.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participants will be able to understand the applicability of targeted browsing for forest management.
Upon completion, participants will be able to understand how targeted browsing and prescribed fire can shape forest composition and structure.
